DC What?? Part 1

DCC

We are in the process of trying to establish a club on the Damon City Campus which is a branch of MCC. Now by we I mean me…not because I prefer to walk alone but because of the fact that DCC is what you might call high security. For example Chrissy and I went on to the campus to try and establish a christian club. Emphasis on try… we were told as long as we had a student with us that we would be allowed to go the club day and advertise our club. While long story short we avoided getting handcuffed luckily thanks to having lil’ Ruthie with us but we knew that we were going to have to start getting creative with this one.

To give you a picture DCC is located on the 4th and 5th floor of the Sibley building in downtown Rochester. So we did the logical thing and held bible studies on the 2nd floor of the Sibley building with a couple of students we knew. This was great but we knew that this would not sustain the club. We were going to have to find a better way.

Now at this point we tried doing things by the rules so we had to put together another way so with Chrissy having a background of making fake ID’s and me being able to buy a backpack and pose as a young dashing hopeful college student I was off to school for another semester of school. I found myself located in the middle of a sign language class that our church pitched in to pay for the class in hopes to start our ministry. I also found myself being able to obtain a student ID pretty easy once I was a registered student. Which was much more believable then the one that was made out of construction paper.

Getting the ball rolling was much easier once I was a student. We soon after found an adviser for the club which has a been a great help to getting us going. We held some interest meeting to get names of students, we assigned students to officer roles, wrote up the constitution, and now am going to the “Man” to get approval of the constitution so we can take it to SEGA (not the video game console) but SEGA is the student government who we have to go through to get our club chartered which will be Campus Ambassadors - DCC Branch, like the confidence ”will be”…..
